Her main responsibilities include managing the Finance and Accounting division, cooperation and communication with the financial community as well as internal and external reporting. Slavica Ajster has a solid Finance track record. She started her career with the National Bank of Slovenia in 1978, where she worked for 11 years. She then joined a Trade Company, Jeklotehna Maribor until 1998, where she worked as Assistant Manager of the Strategic Business Unit for External Trade. After that, she worked another nine years for TDR Metalurgija and joined Solarvalue in 2007. “In all the companies I have worked for, I stayed for quite a long time. The same will hopefully apply for Solarvalue”, Slavica Ajster smiles. “I find it is very exciting to be part of such a young and growing team. We have to establish all the financial processes, including accounting, controlling and taxation and at the same time focus on a million other things since we are still in a start-up phase. One of the reasons, why there is never a dull moment in my job! I am especially proud, that such an innovative company, which is in the growing field of ‘clean energy’, is investing in Ruse. The purchase of large parts of the former TDR factory shows a clear long-term commitment of Solarvalue in this region.” Slavica Ajster has two daughters. The elder daughter has decided to follow in her mother’s footsteps and is studying for her tax advisor certification. The younger one, is 11 years old, and although she is undecided about her career ambitions, she today plans to work in a similar field to her mother. Slavica Ajster: “It seems it’s becoming a family tradition.” “I am a wholehearted financial officer Ð this is what I love doing. I probably have all the characteristics a finance person needs to be successful.
