Together with the founder of Solarvalue AG, Dr. Karoly Horvath, she developed the commercial concept underlying Solarvalue. The original intention was to manufacture wafers, cells and modules, and thus cover the entire solar industry value chain. However, it fairly soon became apparent that the main bottleneck in the solar industry is the supply of the raw material - solar silicon. The decision was thus made in mid-2005 to initiate the production of solar silicon. "If one is involved in the foundation of a new company, it is of course necessary to regularly review the situation to make sure that one is taking the right course", says Claudia Boehringer. "We therefore had to make a number of strategic decisions that turned around our original concept. At present, we are committed to the production of solar silicon and have purchased - rather than leased, as was originally planned - major holdings in the factory in Ruse. But it is precisely this kind of entrepreneurial decision-making, the courage to rethink one's aims, that I believe to be the factor that makes a business successful." After more than 20 years working for leading banking houses in the financial sector, Claudia Boehringer now leads a team of international specialists in a company that is one of the first in the world to have as its target the production of solar silicon in quantities of several thousand tonnes annually. "A really substantial task in contrast to the abstract concepts of financial investment I dealt with before", states Claudia Boehringer: "We have set ourselves a clear objective and there is no doubt we will achieve it." "I know, every day, that I am doing the right thing because I am responsible for the development and future success of a new company that not only has glittering prospects but is active in a sustainable commercial sector." ![]() ![]() 01_ 02_ 03_ 04_ 05_ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
